Governor Vacancy

Harwood Hill is a JMI and Nursery school with a key role in the local community. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of Governors who work with our wonderful teachers and support staff to help us overcome the challenges that primary schools face and enable Harwood Hill to thrive.

We are now looking for a new co-opted governor to join the team. As a governor you will ensure the school upholds its vision and values, and implements its policies appropriately while holding the headteacher to account for the day-to-day running of the school, academic progress and financing.

Although this is a voluntary role it is highly valued and provides an opportunity to develop your own skills and experience and contribute to the development of more than 200 children in the Welwyn Garden City community. Our Governors bring unique skills and experience from the fields of management, finance, law and human resources but we are able to offer access to any training or support you would need to fulfil this role.

We love our governors to be involved in school life and there are opportunities to support us in many ways but the minimum commitment we ask for is attendance at our twice-termly Governors’ meetings.

Please note that a DBS check is required.

If you are interested in this role and would like to find out more, please email us at admin@harwood.herts.sch.uk to arrange a visit or to talk to our headteacher or chair of governors.
